Product clipper for interior designers
Copying a name, price, photo and link from a product page into a spreadsheet is work nobody enjoys. The Projado product clipper, a web clipper that runs as a browser extension, does it for you: you open the product page in a shop, click the extension's icon and save the product to the project you choose. The extension is built, but it is not yet released for installation.
How the clipper works
Four steps, with no switching between tabs:
- You open a product page in an online shop.
- You click the extension's icon. A panel opens on the shop's page with the details it has read.
- You check the preview, choose the project and the room, and set the quantity and unit.
- You save. The product is on the project's shopping list.
What it reads
The name, the price and its currency, the supplier, a photo and the link. Where the shop publishes them, the catalogue number, dimensions and product variant too. If the photo it picked is not the right one, you point at another on the page.
For products sold by the square metre or the linear metre, the clipper reads the unit price, not the price of the whole pack. When the same link is already on the project's list, it warns you and lets you increase the quantity or update the stored price in place of adding a duplicate.
You can always correct the details before saving. If a page does not look like a product page, you can still save an entry with a name and a link, and no guessed price.
Which shops it works with
The clipper recognises the structure of widely used shop platforms, so it can read product details on most furniture and interiors shops. The software lists the shops we have checked. Most others should read correctly too, and the preview shows what was read before you save.
What it does not do
It does not browse or collect data in the background. It runs only after you click its icon, on the page you are looking at. It has no access to your browsing history or your other open tabs.
The extension uses the account you are signed in to in Projado. There is no separate password.
Currently free
Your studio has up to 5 active projects free, with no card. The shopping list the clipper saves products to is part of the same account. The extension itself is not yet released for installation.
Questions and answers
Which browsers does it work in?
Chrome and Chromium-based desktop browsers.
Can I add a product without the extension?
Yes. On the shopping list you paste a link to the product or add it by hand. You can also import a schedule from an Excel or CSV file.
Do I need an account?
Yes. The clipper saves products into projects, so it needs a Projado account.
Can I install it yet?
Not yet. The extension has not been released for download. Once it is, the install link will appear inside the software, on the extension's page. The same page will show whether the extension is installed in your browser. Until then you add products on the shopping list from a link, by hand or from a file.
